Elementary

The Art and Innovation Lab (CCAIL) at the elementary level engages students in connecting visual art practices with digital modalities, like coding and physical computing. Students at all age levels learn animation, culminating in stop motion animation via iPads in grades 4 and 5. Students in all grade levels learn robotics, often combining robotics skills with sculpture, drawing, and/or storytelling.

Middle School

The 6th grade elective wheel offers Intro to Art where students will use a variety of materials to complete art focusing on the elements of design. In 7th & 8th grade students can choose the semester long elective Exploration of Art.

Additionally, 8th graders can choose Cultural Art where students explore art in various cultures including: Medieval Europe, China, Japan and India.

High School

Electives are offered during the day and after school as part of the 7th period AVPA program. During 1-6th period, students can choose Drawing & Painting, AP Studio Art 2D, Art & Culture and Yearbook.  Seniors are also eligible to take the very popular ceramics class.  CTE Visual Art Pathways include: CTE Architecture & Design and CTE Graphic Design to be added in 2025-26.  The 7th period AVPA program allows students to continue to explore their creativity in a variety of media, techniques and style.  Dual enrollment is currently offered through West Los Angeles College.
