Creative Career Pathways For Youth

"Building Creative Career Pathways for Youth" explores exciting opportunities in 70 creative occupations and highlights programs that help young people access these vibrant jobs. While Career Exploration and Career and College Readiness programs are less common, they are incredibly valuable in guiding youth, especially those facing employment challenges, toward discovering and successfully pursuing creative careers. Work-Based Learning programs are essential in this journey, offering numerous chances for youth to dive into nearly any sector of the creative economy.

The report concludes with 23 recommendations aimed at removing barriers and enhancing access to creative careers for LA County youth. It pays special attention to supporting youth of color, LGBTQ youth, those with disabilities, current and former foster youth, youth on probation, and those from low-income households, among others who face challenges in joining the workforce. These recommendations are designed to open doors and create more opportunities for all.
